I bought SmartBook G138. It has mini usb female connector. I couldn't find a cable for normal usb devices such as mouse, netstick, flash. So I made it myself from two cables from same manuacturer (teccus by vivanco). Red to red, white to white, green to green, black to black. Everyting should be ok.

But when I connect mouse or usb flash nothig happens.
The pins from wikipedia are:

1 = +5V = red
2 = DATA- = white
3 = DATA+ = green
4 = GND = black

as they are in my cable(s both) too.

I measured that 3=DATA+=green only is 5 volts not 1=red.

I looked drivers for USB or somekind device manager. But I couldn't find any for windows CE 4.2 .NET.

Is the port broken? What can I do?
Any ideas.

It isn't a USB host port, it's a client port. It hasn't responded because it doesn't know that it has to.

But this brings up a good (simple) question...is the difference between a client and host USB port a matter of software, perhaps a registry entry, or is it totally a matter of hardware and cannot be changed?
