Regarding 16GB CompactFlash

I want to add storage to some CE.NET thin clients (X86). I tried some USB flash drives but found only one that works reliably. For that reason, I'm not too keen on buying a large USB flash drive or hard drive and finding out it doesn't work.

I can add a CF card, but read about the trouble if it is larger than 8GB. I saw the storage brick driver (ExDrive.dll), but unfortunately there is no X86 build. I also don't see any indication of what changes were made to the atadisk driver.

I would probably get a Transcend 16GB CF. Does anyone know if this works without the ExDrive.dll? I do see the 32GB CF is listed in the HCL as working on CE 3.0. Is that with the ExDrive.dll? The HCL entry doesn't say.
