NEC MP900C - broken lid sensor

Hi!
Just one simple question - does broken lid sensor affect my NEC MP900C in any way? I mean, beside the obvious fact that the backlight doesn't turn off any more.

Not really. That little stud actually suspends every thing running, audio and video and whatever...so if you leave something running and close the lid, it keeps running. I guess you could run your battery down if you didn't suspend your device or turn it off....but most everyone does that anyways...I mean I've never relied on that little sticky-outie thing to turn off my Mobilepro....

I have auto-suspend set to one minute anyway, I just wanted to know if suspend+closing the lid is in any way different from suspend+not closing the lid. Thanks for enlightening me.
