| Hey, did anybody actually try using the SX16H006 screen? I'm assuming that it's a direct replacement, so it should be a fairly easy job, right?
I know it's still only a DSTN, but it looks like it's a lot brighter, which should help at least some in direct sunlight...

| We are really going for tft. But none of that matters, as Hitachi has STILL not gotten back to me. The second they do (if they don't want me to spam them ), we will get moving. |

| Ok, Trident, not Hitachi ( ) replied. They ship the tft's to the UK, so someone there would have to ship it to Matrixcore. Nick?
Anyways, the representative asked if they could help, and if I am still interested (of course! ). I replied, and we will see how it goes from here. But I think that we might get our try at this. |

If you give me the details I can ship it out... |

| Well, I got a reply from Trident...unfortunately, the tft is much more expensive than any of us anticipated...
"Sell price for one off TX16D11VM2CAA (G) - RoHS compliant version @
Pounds/Sterling £325.00 + carriage..." |

| ah, the joys of specialist low volume electronics!
I think the phrase is something like "balls to that, then!" |

| Perhaps we can get a fundraiser? Although, considering how little votes there are on the DOS poll...
I definitely don't want to give up, especially when we finally do have an offer.
There is one problem already that matrixcore did find: There are twice as many rgb cables on the tft than the dstn. Hopefully there is a way around that, but that could not be explored until we have a display. Perhaps Trident can help, however. |

| I'd chip in as well, as long as theres someone out there who could spend the time and energy to actually hook up the screen |

| Interesting, very interesting.
The question is. Who has that expertise? I for one don't. |

| Well, if the LCD ribbon is one to one and its TFT, I would happily do a pilot! |

| Just thought I would mention for anyone still looking at this thread: The TFT and DSTN do NOT seem to be mechanically compatible. The TFT has way more rgb cables. Maybe we could merge them? I have no idea. |
