| Yeah, if you can live w/o the keyboard, this is good stuff The availability of Android updates is especially appealing.

| At the $75 range it is almost worth it to go get it. That is a great coupon thcrw739! And free shipping... The Android Market has a swipe keyboard available might be really helpful. |

| I'm really thinking about it, but just today i ran across netbooks/Jupiter sized hpc's made with the new via 8650 (fantastic upgrade over the via 8505) 800mhz arm 11 based cpu , plus a 300mhz dsp, 256mb of ram.
Kinda been waiting for them since i spotted the tablet versions with the same chip base.
They can run flash 10.1 |

| Unless I get talked out of it I plan on picking up this tablet this week. I have been reading some of the reviews on it and it seems that after the updates and a few tweaks this thing is good-to-go and at $75 I cannot find a better deal. CVS also has a really nice return policy in case of a bad unit.

| Oh, I would get it. What the hay, it's 75USD and an updatable OS. Besides, you can test out the Softmaker Android beta Office package...

| Got it! I printed out a coupon for 25% off, they only had two tablets and both had been opened already. I checked one of them out and it was in perfect condition. I asked the lady if there could be any additional discount because of it being open...she gave me another $10 off! I am updating it now. Will let y'all know what I think... |

| I'm not about to dump CE...however, I do admit that the browser that came with my wife's Pandigital ebook reader using Android 2.0 is excellent. The Office Suite Pro is superb as a Microsoft Office clone. The past few days I've been copying a bunch of Android apps to her machine and most all run without any problem whatsoever, even those that were made for a cellphone.
I also figured out how to remove the back on the damn thing...held in place by sticky-backed tape...ugh. But I was able to put in a 4GB micro SD card with no problem instead of the 1GB it came with. Seems to help speed things up some.
I imagine these Android tablet pcs are probably even better than an ebook reader, especially in processor speed, so I'm sure you will be tickled Yoldering...
What is crazy to me is that a lot of these Android tablets are WM8505 processors, and you used to see advertisements for them with CE6...but you can't find a CE tablet these days it seems....I guess Android took over.

| At least on the 10" version I used for a few weeks, the keyboard grows on you (or at least you minimize your usage). For a "content consumption" device, it's a good compromise. I'd probably go nuts if I were to use it in an active group (where I might contribute 200-1000 word messages). The unit I was using (I changed the UI from chinese language to english) went back to its rightful owner. I'm still considering whether or not I'd like one... or if I need to get my Nova 500 working (bird in hand and all that jazz...) |

| Yeah this looks like a good tablet. Just a few questions:
- Full access to Android Marketplace through WiFi?
- Is it really resistive touch? So no multi-touch?
- How does the weight and balance feel in the hands?
- So the "1GHz ARM" is a Via WM8505?
- Battery life?
I still don't want a slate device with no keyboard, mostly due to the soft keyboard taking up screen space - can't see what or where I'm typing very clearly. But I guess if the soft keyboard can be made smaller, because the screen is large enough, you might get a larger "mail slot" to peek through
In any case looking forward to Yoldering's device review |
