| either imov or MS portrait (it is an interesting msn app!) - google for them, i'm not sure if they run on 4.1 but there's a fair chance that they will, or if neither will work and you're really desperate to have msn, i still can help you. it'll require learning some simple commands but after that you'll be fine. but if you need file transfer, forget that... |

| Doesn't work with ce 4.1! |

| I have MS Portrait working on my simpad sl4 running .net 4.1.
To make it work, you need to go into options on the program and set up your .net messanger account. Then, you will need to add your buddies to it manually.

no you dont need to add your buddies, MS Portrait will get the list from the server. at least that's my experience.
and yes it works even on ce.net 4.2. |

Doesn't work with ce 4.1!
you mean it won't even start?
in this case you might need some additional libraries, i'll look into that but until that i suggest you download the global mfce redistribution from here, from downloads section and copy the ARM mfcce300 and olece300 dlls into your device's Windows folder. maybe that will solve it. (my hpc doesn't have these by default either, they might have been left out of yours too ) |

| Hi there,
I am confused as the bSquare PHH comes with MSN messenger as standard!!!!!
It is in the all programs group.
If you don't have it, let me know and I'll see what I can do for you.
BTW what other software have you got running on the bSquare?

| hello what can you do... can you copy it out of the ROM or what? if you intend to try that then i'd recommend total commander.
it (msn messenger ) is missing from my ROM too (i have another device, not bsquare though ). i don't mind because i use another program for msn (and it is better ), but it would be fun to have it. |

| As far as I know it is in the windows directory - but I will have to check that.

| Hi there,
I looked, and the shortcut points to msmsgs.exe in the Windows folder - check if it's there.
My firmware is 1.52.4041
Build date Feb 10 2004
Radio Firmware GPRS D2.9.6.0 18DB
PIC Firmware ID 1.28.15
I could try sending you the exe, but I'm not sure about the legalities of that!
I spoke to bSquare last week and they confirmed that no upgrades are (or were) available for the PHH. In the windows folder there is an upgrade utility (osupdatewizard.exe), not of course it requires a ROM file to use as a source.
