I have a little cash
($30 US
) to spend on more
toys tools, and I've been tempted to get an Axim X30 or X50 to supplant a Jornada 720 as my everyday pim/word processing device. I have a fold-up BT keyboard, Agenda Fusion
(older version
), and SoftMaker Office 2006 already.
I'm pulled because of wifi
(Jornada can't do WPA
) and portability
(easier to carry a PPC in a coat pocket, and easier to quickly glance at an appointment or look up a contact
). The fold-up keyboard is also nicer than the J720 keyboard. The downsides are obvious: the PPC gui, the hassle of opening/setting up the keyboard, and the smaller screen. I used this kind of setup years ago with an iPAQ 3835, so I'm familiar with it, though I didn't know about TextMaker at that time.
So I'm looking for a little perspective.....what am I not considering? I feel like I should know better than to go back to a PPC, but.....still I'm drawn. Help!
I should say that the other option I'm considering is getting an ac adapter for my MP 790 and using it instead of the Jornada, so I have a better keyboard. But then I don't have the portability, or the wifi, or......
