| Maybe someday I will try it too.
(It's not officially available to Japan now but they sell it anyway even on Amazon.co.jp )
It's so cool that it has Tegra 3 and it's only $199. NFC also interests me.
I still love my Sony Tablet P and Sig 3 though... |

| Now I don't know... After some research, it seems that the 8gb version will only have 2-3gb available after it is formatted with Jelly Bean. They are offering a 16gb version for $250, but even that will have no room for expansion. The website says this device will have tons of free (Cloud ) storage, but how will that help while the device is not connected??? |

| OK, I'll bite. Why do I need a magnetometer on my tablet? Just in case I need to search for hidden submarines or buried/lost treasure?

| Actually they make quite good electronic compasses. My handheld GPS (Magellan Explorist 710) has one built in and I can use it like a compass even if I cannot pick up any GPS satellites. And who knows when you might be swimming along the shore and discover a hidden enemy submarine lurking in coastal waters...you could the next antiterrorism hero! |

| My wife surprised me for my birthday and bought me the 16gb Nexus 7... It will be here tomorrow. The figured out one real reason you might want a Magnetometer is for the "smart cover" which automatically puts the tablet to sleep and wakes it us by opening it or closing it.
I will do a review for y'all... |

| Yes she is. The Nexus arrived today and I'm using it now. This is an amazing tablet especially for the price! I have NO regrets about getting this. It is a perfect size to hold. Very comfortable... also small enough to fit in my pocket. Any one have any questions? |

| Yoldering, are you going to attach a keyboard like the one on engadget?
I guess a bluetooth keyboard is better, but it will be fun to do something like the one on engadget. Edited by stingraze 2012-07-29 5:05 AM

| I wish I had Yoldering's wife...on the other hand I wish I had anyone's wife rather than my own...anyone want to trade, I'll throw in a couple HPCs...oh, should I post this in the HPCBay area?
BTW, how is the GPS in it? Does it work well and update quickly? I mean it is a true GPS isn't it? How about a picture of it running...
I was thinking of buying a 7" Windows CE GPS like this one here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/330647356251?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
But for the price you paid, seems I could have a whole lot better machine...more than twice the price, but probably 100x the capability... |

| Okay, I just tested the GPS and it seems that you must be connected to WiFi for it to work... seems to miss the point with a WiFi only device...oh well, I didn't get it for GPS. I will test again later. |
