| I have had a casio pa 2400u for 3 years now and used it for little less than an e-book reader. I have found this in the manual:

It is describing a jack in the unit that, from the outwards appearance is the size of a walkman headset jack. I know that this was designed to be an industrial machine to be used in inventory collection, etc. Can someone tell me what these numbers mean? Is there any possibility that this could be used as a microphone jack with a software patch? | |

| I think it cannot be used as a microphone without some soldering. It's more like a serial sync method, ala Palm Vx Sync cable | |

| Thanks! So...if I opened the machine I could solder a wire from the built in microphone, even disable that, to this jack?

| That looks like 3 pin serial, one pin is ground, then the others are TX (transmit) and RX (receive). Not anywhere near full RS232, but it'll work for some things.
