Okay C:Amie, time for you to do your creativity stuff.

We (meaning me) need an official 150x150 pixel .png graphic to use as a tile for my Windows 8 start menu for HPCFactor...something like I sketched below, but cooler and neater or whatever...

I'm customizing my Metro start screen with custom launch tiles. For instance, below you can see the tile I created that launches my Micrograpf Picture Publisher program. And a crappy one I use for HPCFactor.

You need to create an OFFICIAL ONE! Actually two of them would be nice. One 150x150 pixels, and another 310x150 pixels, so the user can select whether he want to use a large or small tile to launch HPCFactor from the start menu.

Torch, what are you using to link your executeables and tiles with? I'm using an app called Oblytile.

Rich, I haven't messed with the start screen that much until today, honestly. I still am fairly accustomed to the taskbar pinning for the past 3 years from Windows 7.

Hey, a little respect, please - I'm not a nerd, I'm a geek.

CE Geek, you need to be more like C:Amie. Perhaps you could be C:Geek, and I'll be T:Orch...

edit:had to disable emoticons!!

By the way, I've never tried Stardock, I didn't know the start thing looked that realistic with it. How do you like the new desktop UI? I love it.

The program is called Start8, it's about $5 USD. There are a couple of bugs that I've noticed, but I'm running it in a VM as I cannot bring myself to do a real hardware install again. I find the new explorer shell offputting and generally unappealing.

How do you feel about the other changes to the desktop UI? i.e. the flattened theme?
