I'm starting to jones for a netbook/small laptop.

Criteria:

Physical keyboard
8.9" to 10.1" inch screen. Touch would be a plus
Battery replacement without opening machine

New is okay, but I don't really care about age as long as extra battery is still available for purchase.

Any ideas about how to refine my ebay search?

Thanks,
Jake

Probably Linux, but I'd be willing to go as far back as Win95. Android okay, too.

That makes it easy...an Asus EEE or Aspire both will run Linux fine and cost less than $200 brand new...

I second Rich's advise. I've been using an AcerAspire One for the past year, although under Windows 7. Good build quality and battery life.

I do have the EEE 900, and have it boot a variety of OSs, so I'll look into an Acer Aspire One. ebay gives me a lot of choices for "Acer Aspire One" Any particular model(s) I should explore?

One thing I did notice was Acer machines with an 11.6" screen, appealing as well.

Thanks for weighing in, folks,
Jake

The one I own is the Acer Aspire One D257-1814. I bought it a year ago for about $200 and have been very happy with it.
