I've been looking forever but can't find a better mp3 player. I wish I could get the Windows media player on it. Any ideas?

I actually made one and it worked find....skins are easy to design for WMP1.2. Just put the colors where you want the controls...

Anyways, after making it I deleted it since it is so limited as a media player...

Yeah, but it does do the job with MP3s and WMAs. A couple of weeks ago, just for kicks, I tried installing it (800x480 version) on one of my UbiSurfers, and it played some WMA files just fine.

I'll try that WMP 1.2 on it later. How did you get that internet explorer on there? CE 6 is alien to me, can't figure out what works yet. I'd like to use that for gifs or something.

I picked up a third one. Strangely, the second one would not retain some registry settings on reboot, but the third one does (as did the first one before it went kaputt).

I've been using the heck out of mine, waiting for a usb audio to 3.5mm adapter to come in. My WMP 1.2 doesn't let me continue on with anything...One thing I would really go for is a word processor or notepad. Nothing I've tried has worked right.

Tillanosoft Pocket Notepad works fine on mine. Link is below.

The second one I got (the one that wouldn't retain some registry changes) just keeps getting quirkier. It no longer let me add any files to \Windows - not even tiny .lnk files - even though only a few small files had been added prior to that. (I had actually cleared out and formatted the flash disk folder [\VDisk] after receiving the third one, and removed all the added links in the Start Menu, so there should have been plenty of room.) Then, tonight, I booted it up, and it appeared to have done a kind of hard reset: all added files were removed, even from \VDisk. \Windows still seems to be willing to accept only a limited number of new files, but at least now the registry settings are retained. (Adjusting the slider bar in Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System doesn't work - program memory is reduced without freeing up any storage memory. )
