I never noticed this before on my own package, but while looking at this listing for the original Windows CE version of Scrabble:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Scrabble-for-Windows-CE-and-Handheld-or-Palm-size-PC-CD-new-in-box-/370945991789?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item565e1aa46d

- I noticed the "Coming Soon" message on the bottom of the inside page of the insert. Check out all the games that were planned for the H/PC and/or Palm-size PC that never materialized: Risk, Battleship, Yahtzee, Boggle, and more. I would love to see screenshots of H/PC versions of these. Wonder how far Hasbro got with these before abandoning them.

Ah to dream of what might have been. A dangerous, yet intoxicating vice.

About the same time the SH3/MIPS version of these came out, Hasbro started selling handheld games with cheapo LCD screens with the game burnt into a rom chip. Never made it very big.

And about the same time, HPCs started giving way to Pocketpcs...and they did come out in that format. I have Scrabble, Monopoly, Battleship, Yahtzee for ppc, but it doesn't work for crap on my Mobilepro due to the screen formatting. But on my larger ARM based tablet, i.e. Skeyepad...they work fine...though still at pocketpc size.

Yeah, but the HVGA and VGA versions of Scrabble and Trivial Pursuit are cooler and make better use of the screen size. Kinda sucks though that they never came out with ARM or SH4 versions. (At least I can run them on my MIPS CE 5 devices. )

I believe that Hasbro stopped distributing Windows CE apps once the Pocket PC platform came out. As you know, the Pocket PC versions you mention were distributed by Handmark/Infogrames.
