So, does anyone here still use the AMD 50x15 any longer?
I've had mine plugged up and running for a while now...a year or two at least. But I've been noticing more and more the limitations of IE6.
On one of my old AMD 50x15s I flashed the express rom and ran Win 98 for a while and later XP. The machine made a pretty decent FTP and HTTP server even running only at 300mHz.
I've even read about some people who have flashed Android to their AMD PIC or DECTOP (same thing). But so far i guess they have only been successful running Android 1.6. Still if the web browser is better than IE6, then it has to be a step up I would think.
Anyways, if I reflash the bios to a normal bios, I give up CE5 forever...there is no going back. I wonder if there is a bios flash I could use for one of the CE6 thin clients that support x86?
Maybe I should just put the 50X15 up for sale or trade to someone who wants to experiment...what'cha think?
Anything with the ie6 rendering engine is a problem especially now that Google api has dropped it. Can you get chrome or Firefox os running on it. Can the bootloader for ce be pulled off the eeprom as a hex dump?
