| Hi all,
Maybe this should go in a more specific forum, but I'm wondering why key repeat doesn't work with an external keyboard on a Mobilepro 900 (upgraded to Cmonex 2). I hold down delete, and it just deletes once! Same with every other key.
Is there a driver to help here, or is it just the nature of how things are?
Thanks!

| What are the values of InitialDelay and RepeatRate under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Keybd ? |
|
|
|
| Those values are set at 500 and 20. |

| Backup the registry and try the OAK defaults of 177 and 8, then soft reset. |

| Thanks for the suggestion. Still no key repeat with external keyboard. I tried a Microsoft ergonomic one and a cheap Dell model. |

| It must be an issue in the HID interface then.
Rich, if you have one in arms reach, can you replicate this on a Cmonex/non-Cmonex ROM? |

| It just not Cmonex v2, but any CE.NET on the 900C. The USB accepts single key presses only and doesn't support repeat function. |

| ah, gotcha. Ok, so it's a 900 thing. I assume I won't have the same problem when my Netbook Pro arrives? |

| That's bizarre, I wonder if it can be fixed by tweaking the driver registry settings? |

| Not that I know of. I mean the registry value for repeat is enabled...so the repeat function works with the built in keyboard just fine. There is no registry function for external keyboard settings.
I'm pretty sure it is a component or limitation to the usbhid.dll on the Mobilepro. |

| [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\USB\LoadClients\Default\Default\3\VIAHID] "DLL"="VIAHID.DLL" "Prefix"="HID" "Index"=dword:1 "KbdRepeatEnable"=dword:1
one such example at the driver level, rather than system. |

| Thanks, guys, for noodling this question for a bit. Just a quirk I'll have to live with. |
