It is 100% functional...but ugly as hell inside....schematic is simple however...9 wires from the input to the common on the switch, 9 wires from each of the 4 outputs to the corresponding serial port.
I actually used 4 different colored wires, yellow, green, red, black
(telephone wire
) to each port. Then I marked each wire with a paper label so I wouldn't get them mixed up with the proper pin, labels #1-9.
In retrospect, I think if I did it over, I would use a 9 wire ribbon cable, only separating each wire enough to reach the pin for soldering...that way I would know pin 1 by the colored wire, and then solder each subsequent wire in order to the connector.
