Hey everyone!

Belated Happy New Year and whatnot. I hope your health and lives in general are doing well. I figured it's about time a check in. It's been a few months.

I basically live now on my 7" off-brand phablet, a Neutab G7, It has nice specs for $100, dual SIMs, quad-core, Android 5.x, TF slot, HDMI out, BT4, 2.4 & 5ghz wifi (no AC) 8gb ROM, 1gb RAM and it really flies! It blew me away the moment I fired it up. It's too big for a normal pocket but fits nicely in my cargo pants pocket.

The mobile phone side of my G7 gives me 1000 minutes/month, free LD, unlimited text and 1gb of data. All for $9/month.

I still have a notebook that my family uses, I'm using it now, it's getting hot my lap!, but for all intents and purposes I've moved permanently into the mobile world.

Speaking of moving, there's a 50/50 chance I'll be living in the UK this time next year. I'm working on a business buy and I move if it works out. I'm a dual national so there's problem with me moving over.

Well gang, that's about it till next time.

Cheers

Nice to hear from you again, wally.

What part of the UK do you plan to be moving to?

Yeah, usually the phone corrects it for you.

At least he won't have to learn new spellings of "colour," "neighbour," etc, C:Amie.

Well, there is that I suppose. How about Aluminium? Can Canadians spell and say that correctly? Nuclear?

CEGEEK: Hate speller checkers...turn them off all the time. They interfere with SMS abbreviations and often make a good message unreadable.

C:AMIE: The -ise versus -ize USA/UK differences drives me nuts...

I always wondered where that extra 'i' came from. 'Round these parts we call it aluminum.

But I admit I don't know how 'nuclear' became "nucular."

There are those proponents to adopting a phonetic spelling system.

For instance, wrinkled would be spelled ringkelled. Computer would be Kumpewter. etc.....

I know right? You guys have got to stop doing that

I believe that actually both are legal in most cases, but ise is legal in all cases. See: http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/words/ize-ise-or-yse

So Wally, when are you planning on coming over?

Wait, C:Amie - are you saying I could be arrested for spelling "synchronize" with a 'z'?

Arrested? You shall be publicly flogged for it my good man.

... the idea.

Legal as in syntax, not legal as in throwing all our tea into Boston harbour and declaring independence.

Sounds like you're harbouring a little resentment, C:Amie.
