Hi,

I'm looking for GPS Navigation Software that works on a ce net 4.1 simpad.

It must have UK maps available (as current as possible)
It must have an english user interface.

It would be nice to have Voice Navigation.. (with english language)

It must be navigation software - ie one that plans a route for you from point
to point and tells you when to turn etc , not just software that shows you where
you are on a realtime map without giving you directions to your destination.

It can be a native hpc app or a ppc app that works with the fake dll's
as long as it will display full screen and be able to be registered properly
with the manufacturer.

Has anyone tried a wired serial port external GPS unit linked to their
simpad activesync lead?

I am asking because the maps nowadays are BIG and will not fit into
internal memory so I would want to use a CF card via a PCMCIA adapter
to store the maps - while running the GPS from the com port.

For the right program i am willing to flash my simpad back to hpc2000
if it is necessary.

Regards

Hi there,

Tomtom mobile version 4 (not version 5), works on ce.net 4.1 - I have used it.
I am told that destinator also works but have not used this
I am also told that teletype works but have not used this either!!!

So there you go, 3 choices!!!!!

Looks like TomTom4 for me then.

Could you please confirm that you used a serial GPS unit linked to your
activesync lead and a CF card for the maps.

Also could you please confirm that you didn't need fake dll's or Gapi?

Many thanks

Ah, this could be a problem!

TomTom mobile 4 only works with a bluetooth GPS.
There were no hacks or DLL changes required, I just inserted the SD card and away I went.

destinator 3.0.25 works on the simpad with ce.net 4.1... aygshell.dll (9K? iirc..) is required, nothing else, no hexediting.
3.0.75 is the newest destinator but i couldn't successfully hack it yet.. not even on hpc2000. but the newest maps work with 3.0.25 so no problem imo..
