i couldn't get it to work on ce.net 4.2.. i'll try again, as i've got some more ideas since then.. i can't promise anything though. and even if it works on 4.2, it won't necessarily work on 4.1.. quite the opposite!

well, Skype needs htmlview.dll.. it'll be a tough case for a NEC 900C without htmlview ok, there are several versions floating around... but i'm not too optimistic..
can you look at your device? can you see a htmlview.dll in the Windows folder? (use total commander for file manager so that you can see all files)

OK.. try it then. download skype, install the cab, and just try to run it! (sorry if you already tried this! )
if it says missing dlls then check please if you have an aygshell.dll in your windows directory and tell me the result. further steps depend on it...

though i'm afraid it's absolutely in vain as you don't have ce.net 4.2. still, you can hope..

in the meantime i'll try it with various htmlview.dlls

ok, after two complete system crashes with skype and htmlview combined together i'll give up for tonight
i mean.. skype will try to start with htmlview , but it hangs the whole system right away.. now if we could find a better htmlview.. or is it something else responsible for this outcome? for example it accepted htmlview and it was OK (=could be executed OK.. i doubt it though) but then something else in the code after htmlview stalled it... isn't easy to figure out

that's what i suspected just wanted to be 100% sure
do you have the aygshells from my page? try it with them.
and if you don't have iphlpapi.dll in your windows folder (check this too.. i'm curious), you'll need that too from the arm dlls (also on my site).
it should try starting then, if it doesn't do this but instead pops up the missing dlls message or another error message, you have no chance.. because it started on my 900C with htmlview and aygshell and iphlpapi (the latter two in ROM). though it froze right away.. (i'll continue experimenting soon)
if it does try to start, but freezes, we can try experimenting further on your device too

Somebody has Skype working under Windows CE 5.0 instead of Pocket PC. Any chance for CE 3.0? Here is the link about the success with CE 5.0: http://forum.skype.com/index.php?showtopic=61356

Oh, Microsoft added VoIP to Windows CE 4.2. So, there is little chance for Skype to work below CE 4.2.
