| Well, im a proud owner of a NEC MobilePro 780 but the lack of expansion (with programs ) of the CE 2.0 has left me wondering whether I should purchase another HPC. So I needed some help. I have decided to buy a HPC but I'm looking for something with Windows CE 3.0, that way i can atleast load up some programs on it. I have looked at the NEC MobilePro790 but I want to know what some of you guys suggest and this will help me decide which one i need to get. Thanks guys for helping me out with an important decision ! |

| well if you describe your needs in more details we might be able to help you
what kind of programs do you need?
and your system isn't ce 2.0 but 2.11 (HPC Pro ) |

| Well yeah youre right, sry its 2.11. Well im just looking for a nice size display (620x240) atleast that much or bigger and a Windows CE 3.0 OS and a nice keyboard (like how the MobilePro 780/770/790). |

| Well i have a Windows CE 3.0 PDA (Compaq Ipaq) and there are a lot of programs i can install and try out on it that i cannot on the NEC MobilePro because of the OS difference.

| ok but what programs exactly? can you name a few?
so far the 790 looks a good idea.. maybe you can get a 790 ROM to upgrade your 780 |

| Well hmm i really dont remember the names but for example a remote control software (to handle home theater equipment like VitoRemote or TVRemoteControl), Security Software (SignWise), Movie Software (PocketMVP), Games (most games) and an updated version of Windows Media Player. Somewhat around those lines. |

|
| Also, I read about the MP790 and it says "Operating system Windows CE PC2000". What does that mean? Is it CE 3.0 or something else?
Btw, I was also wondering if the ViewSonic Viewpad 100 was any good. Thanks |

| hpc2000 has ce 3.0 as core. ppc2000 and ppc2000 have ce 3.0 too. just the GUI is different. (so the ppc apps won't run on hpc2000... but a lot of them will with a little (*easy* ) hacking )
dunno anything about the viewsonic |
