As in the title I have got destinator 3 working on the
J728 installed via activesync from the manufacturers disk
which i bought cheap on ebay.
I am currently using the 16.5kb aygshell.dll
which is the only thing the software seems to need to be able to run.
I have bought a wired haicom serial gps from www.easydevices.co.uk
that has a pc serial connection and used a gender bender to connect it to
he activesync serial lead.
All I can say is wow it works......
When I get some more cash available i might try buying a compactflash
gps card to put in the pcmcia converter to see if i can get a totally
portable gps unit working.
With the advantage of the arrow keys on the keyboard
actually skipping you to the next letter on the list of addresses.
The only caveat is that the software cannot be exited other than pressing the reset
button and the desktop cannot be viewed while the software is running.
You can however partially view the desktop by going into any of destinators
settings that bring up a dialog box and then clicking the view desktop button.
However the destinator dialog box stays on the screen obliterating the centre
third of the display.. ie you can only see the thirds of the display to the left and right of the dialog box.

well i think you did something wrong, i have never had to reset to exit destinator and my desktop doesn't get messed up while running destinator
i'm using the 9K aygshell. try it
Dont forget Aygshell.dll control cascade menus.
There are a lot of aygshell versions.
Every ayghshell.dll shows: the menu go down, menu go up,at bottom,only one cascade level, appears back system tray,appears on top of system tray,...
The next software you test try and find better ayghsell for every software.
usually the 16K one is the best but it isn't too rare that 7K or 9K is much better
