| Very cool experiment! With Emacs running, many new things are possible on this old small wonder.
I would also try Emacs and Vim under PocketDOS soon enough. |

| Thanks!
I'm new to the whole PC-98 series, but lots of softwares that work for Free DOS (98) on vector (Japanese software site).

| Hey guys. I just wanted to update this thread saying that I managed to run PocketDOS on my *new* Sigmarion III. That was quite simple actually. All I had to do was install PocketDOS on my Jornada 720, choosing the CF card as my destination. Then I ran it once on the Jornada just to make sure that installation went through correctly, and finally transferred the CF card to the SigIII and ran the .exe in there. The app loaded without any issue! Just to provide more details, I’m using the latest PocketDOS trial. The only change I have on my SigIII is the English MUI pack, that’s all. |

| Actually, although this is called Emacs, it is a clone of it, and a very tiny version of it.
The way to reproduce this is:
Download Neko Project II for Sigmarion 3 (or for other device ) Download site: http://retropc.net/yui/np2.html
- Install FreeDOS (98 ) on Neko Project II I think I used this image: http://silphire.finito-web.com/freedos/image.htm
- Install Nit Emacs on FreeDOS (98 )
The FreeDOS (98 ) is a Free DOS version for PC 9801 series. (PC-98 )
I downloaded NIT Emacs / NIT Eamcs from here:
https://www.vector.co.jp/soft/dos/writing/se001400.html
Seems like Nit Emacs's real name according to that site is NIT Eamcs, not NIT Emacs -> "Nit Emacs Is Tiny Emacs". But I think it says Nit Emacs when it is run. lol.
This is running on Windows CE, but using Neko Project II PC 9801 series emulator, so it's an emulation.
In my opinion, it's much faster than emulating Linux on Sigmarion 3.

| Yes, I think it should run on your Netbook Pro. I don't have the device so I can't be certain, but there is a HPC version of Neko Project II here:

| Thanks! found the HPC file....
On the page you gave link for FreeDOS, are you referring to the link on that page that says "T98-Next 11th beta". If so, that is a broken link......
Thanks. |
