If you want a free audio player that is skinable and has big buttons for in car use, I would look into MortPlayer. It is a Pocket PC program, but should work fine with the P/PC MFC runtimes and a homebrew aygshell and doclist.

It is basicly an implementation of GSPlayer that supports advanced skins with big buttons for in car use. In fact, that is why it was written!
It is also free and has source code available under a GPL license.
