I'm not quite clear on the differences between all these permutations of OS's on handhelds. I found an Opera browser within ACCESS Systems’ NetFront Multimodal Browser for PocketPC 2003.

Can this PocketPC software be installed on my SIMpad with a Windows CE 4.1 net on it? Any tricks to get it to work or would it just be impossible?

I really can't stand that Internet Explorer with all the ads and such.

Here's a link to the the software. You have to sign in and answer some questions to download it but they have never bothered me with junk emails or spam...besides I used a "throwaway email address" anyway.

PPC2003 sits a top Windows CE .net 4.2.
Think of it in terms of a Linux distribution. RedHat, Mandrake, Fedora, Ubuntu sit on the linux kernel and common source. But are different higher up the OS foodchain, and into the user experience.

Well, the whole project is a "trial" project and it's free AFAIK.

I went ahead and installed the cab file on my SIMpad and it executed and installed without errors but there was no Opera installed with it...just netfront3.exe which did not work. :-(
