| So, I finally managed to get a Jornada 720 like many of you here in HPC:Factor. It's coming in the mail sometime this week.
The thing is, it doesn't come with a charger, and I was wondering if a generic 12V AC adapter will be ok.
If so, is the AC Adapter 12V 3A or 2A?
It will be great if I could know the dimensions of the DC plug too.

| They're 2.5A, so you'll be OK with 12v/3A.
1.7x4.7mm barrel with positive on the centre pin.

| Yea, stingraze! I was just reading another unrelated post where you mentioned you didn't have a J-720. The device lacuna is filled at last.

| Yes, I had a J690 I stocked and sold on eBay, but that was without AC adapter and I didn't know if it turned on or not.
Jornada 720 looks fun! |

Happy for you and your new device. The Devuan OS option when mated to a RasPi 3B+ really opens a lot of new doors...an excellent way to learn Linux.
Tweaks2k2 in the WinCE 3.0 mode is a good app for setting up wifi network shares. H-bomb is a nice way to learn HTML 4.0. AIReader2 is great for rendering saved webpages ( I download webpages when in Devuan + RasPi mode and save them on the FAT16 or (FAT32 ) partition of a fast SDCard to view later in WinCE 3.0 mode ).

| I lost my charger and bought one of these, which works perfectly https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233614939173
Of course, by the time it arrived I had found my charger |

| So, after spending an afternoon in Akihabara today to buy some Raspberry Pi Pico and robot parts, I came back home and the mail man delivered the Japanese Jornada 720!

In Japan I guess... right? Stingraze lives in Japan, that's why he never got a J720 before. It is hard to get these western devices over there, just as it is hard to get a Sigmarion here.
Hey Stingraze, I think it is time for you to do a benchmark comparison between the Sig2 and J720. I always wanted to see how they compare in terms of speed. Both have very similar specs, except for the CPU where one is MIPS and the other is ARM. Edited by ntware 2021-02-09 4:55 PM

Haha, yes. Japan.
Unfortunately, I don’t have a Sigmarion 2 at the moment. I sold it a couple months back. I only have Sigmarion 1 in hand. Maybe I can benchmark those two.
I now have to test if the PCMCIA slot works fine or not. I haven’t tested it yet.

| Are there any inbox app differences between the EN and JP versions that you are aware of Stingraze? |

| I haven't checked inbox app yet.
I noticed a couple apps that might be different or not in the English version. (I don't have a English version)
I will try to list them and possibly take some screenshots of the icons etc.
