Would it be possible to create a Windows CE 2.11 CEPC that can boot on an x86 hypervisor? I've tried looking but haven't been able to find any info.

If you acquire Platform Builder 2.11 from somewhere, yes, but sorting drivers out will be easier said than done for all but 640x480 and generic experiences.

I do have the Platform Builder, which I got from BetaArchive. The thing is I don't really know how to use it. I have used other platform builders, but just for Windows CE 7 and 2013, not for older versions.

Well I decided to instead use Platform Builder 2.12, which does have the option for New Platform. I managed to build an OS image, however now I want to know how to copy the NK.bin to a VHD and make it bootable.

Certainly looks that way. The generic driver may not be fully VESA compliant against the virtual adapter.

Hmm I see. How can I change the driver? I tried adding all of the ones included in the PB, but none seem to work.

I’m pretty sure that all included drivers are for 640x240 resolution, which was a standard at the time. As far as I can tell, this doesn’t seem to be a valid VESA resolution, and therefore could be causing issues with the default video adapter of the VM.

Well I changed the resolution to 640x240 and the color depth to 16, and now this happens:

You have to find the driver and then compile it into the image via includes in platform builder.

Find a driver first, worry about the rest later.

I decided to use the HPC2000 VHD file and replace the bin image. It does work, but it's a bit awkward to use.
