| Hi all,
New to the forum, so hi!
My client is a company that uses handheld Windows CE/Mobile scanners to run a Java GUI in a production environment. It connects to an Oracle ERP backend. When they master the devices, they install a JVM called Creme to run this GUI and it appears that this install connects to a license server. Even though all licenses are paid, the server is down and we cannot contact the Creme owner and we are worried they have gone out of business. This is currently blocking remastering all devices.
We are therefore looking at alternative JVMs and the ones recommended by Oracle a long time ago were J9 and Jeode. However they both seem to be obsolete. I noticed that it may be possible to download the Jeode JVM via this site but they you don't just want people joining purely to download stuff which is understandable.
Can anyone recommend how to get hold of either of these JVMs so that we can test if they work as a replacement to Creme.
My client would probably be willing to pay a reasonable fee for support in this matter if necessary.
Regards

| Hello.
Welcome to the forum.
I've searched a bit on a search engine, and here came the result.
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/55322/jvm-choices-on-windows-mobile
There were several mentioned:
https://osdn.net/projects/mysaifujvm/ (Mysaifu JVM project )
https://www.skelmir.com/embedded-virtual-machine-technology (Skelmir CEEJ )
https://phonej2me.github.io/ (phoneME on GitHub )
I'm not too sure, but this article may be of some use to you to track down Java VM for Windows CE / Windows Mobile
https://ugochirico.com/post/2010/08/31/Finally-Sun-J2ME-on-Windows-Mobile
PM me if you need to research more on this.
I have a custom search engine with crawler to dig more choices. Edited by stingraze 2021-04-23 2:37 AM

| FYI: the supplier for Creme finally responded to us and so we'll put the need to find another JVM on hold. But I'll keep the info from stingraze preciously in case we have a need to find another JVM in the future. | |
