| God! what I did!
I made barrel charger for Ericsson mc16, with old atx psu molex hdd jack, for 5v, last nigh one pin dropped, so I put it back, made mistake with 12V hole, burned caps and regulator, lot of smoke. Device is working but no charging. Someone please have disassembly tutorial for HP 360lx or Ericsson mc16? I found just two screws, don't have courage to open it until know for sure how to take it appart...
CAmie Sorry for post here probably on wrong place |

Yes, please don't hijack unrelated threads, please start new ones.
As for my 2 pennith worth, they're not difficult to pull apart. Just be slow and steady and make sure to keep a map of the screws so you put the correct screw back in to its original hole. |

| The best I could find was this page from old-organizers.com on archive.org for HP 360LX.
http://web.archive.org/web/20180320005733/http://old-organizers.com...
Go towards the bottom where it is captioned,
"In parts. In the center: Other side of the electronic card, Hitachi LCD and its sentitive window" It has all the parts disassembled.
I couldn't find a guide for it though.
There are a few threads here on HPC:Factor forum about disassembly / taking apart. (like Jornadas ) It may come in handy.
Also this may come in handy to get the feel of it, although for Jornada 710, 720, 728.

| Thanks for reply
I have experience in repairing but could not find screws of hp360lx, I see only two in battery compartment. It would be heart breaking to do some cracks on this tiny little toy because of some hidden screw or plastic clip. |

Has them for $70 w/ Portuguese rom. I offered him $50 and he accepted it. Just take out the Portuguese rom and put in your english one and reset the unit and wallah, like butter. Everywhere else on ebay is people charging $80-100 for broken ones, id def buy from that link above.

| Thanks WallyB
I opened it. Just two screws, find exploded capacitor tantalum, on pictures you sent me it is in upper left corner small yellow tantalum capacitor, closest to quarts oscillator and cpu. Now I can't read value, mine is burned and black... there is no schematics
any idea what to do? I feel inappropriate to ask you to open yours.
Probably I would buy from that guy but, already ordered few other hpc-s, already risking to be expelled from house

Thanks a lot, it helped for sure, (22x10e-6 F ) yellow tantalum cap exploded, I tought it is semiconductor diode it is black all black with hole in the middle. Now i see what it is. Device is working, just no charging so probably dead is voltage regulator, at your picture it has thermal foam on, it is motorola mc33269-3 3.3v regulator, max input is 20v but i think it isn't survive short circuit across tantalum.
Thanks one more time...

there is something in the hpc device, dark forces
Hey thanks for offer for buying in Japan. I will ask Jauce house could I redirect to Japan. They ask me do I have other address out of Bosnia, but somewhere I saw something about not shipping to Japan addresses from storage. I already have some items at their storage waiting for shipment. Have to calculate cheapest option.
