| The debugger rom was something developers would license from the Palm Corporation. The pilot rom included with download only works well enough to load the main screen overlay. But it would not run any software through emulation. And even then it needed specific drivers only found in the older versions of Windows CE. |

| actually, i found out, that you should put the rom right into the root folder, where you select the Storage card or Programs for example.
rom doesn't matter.
but eventhough it works, it slows down the device.

| Why?
Native Palm device will be faster...more responsive...larger screen...more software compatible...but most importantly...
YOU CAN NEVER OWN TOO MANY HANDHELDS! |

| Dickens had Scrooge, we have Rich.
stingraze used to have a link for another Palm OS emulator called PocketPalm which was for Pocket PC 2000 devices. Might be worth a try. (It came with its own Palm ROM. ) |

| I don't remember the PocketPalm. it was a long time ago.
I will try to dig it out from my memory if I can. haha
Update 12/14/2021 19:09PM JST: I dug up some things in Google and archive.org: here's some more clues:

PP_ARM_Alpha2.zip
PP_SH3_Alpha2.zip
PP_MIPS_Alpha2.zip
seems to be the latest PocketPalm that were available.
There's also this one called StyleTap 1.0 Palm OS Emulator for Windows Mobile devices. May work on your device? Free 14-day trial is available.

Here's info (in Japanese ) on how to extract Palm OS image via USB on Windows 10 machine.

| If you want to play around with Palm apps on WinCE, your best bet is StyleTap. I know it is not free or open source, but it is still worth it. Instead of being an emulator, StyleTap is more like “Wine” for PalmOS. It implements the OS system calls natively, so that Palm apps think they are running on PalmOS. This approach has its limitations, as not all apps might work, however, speed is impressive as most things run natively. | I stumbled on StyleTap years ago, but was less than enthused about the steep price (as opposed to CoPilot and PocketPalm, which were both free ):

| Too bad I read that PocketPalm had some legal issues or something and had to deal with it.
Here is a video I found today related to Palm.
It’s about Springboard.

| There's a shop in Akihabara (Tokyo ) that still has these PDAs on display.
It used to be called Mobile Plaza, and it's now called Ike shop.
https://ikeshop.net/
They are now a mobile shop, selling many interesting accessories. Edited by stingraze 2021-12-18 12:08 AM
