| YOLOed the https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/pocket-3-a-modular-and-full-featu... , wish me luck with importing it. Do we need a "Desktop Windows" subforum in addition to Windows CE already? Edited by Alt Bass 2021-12-20 11:28 AM

| Just a reminder, I could be using oneMix 2 but the CPU of the damn thing died and my review which I was writing died with it because I never expected it to die. |

| I have the microPC and thought about enlisting for the new one but it´s a lot they ask for it. Around 900USD is a different price tag and reminds me of the Sony subnotebooks 15 years ago.
All comparable devices (Cosmo, Astro, other GPD-subnotebooks ) are about half of that amount.
Maybe I change my mind during the next months. If the timeline is similiar to other GPD-campaigns (and this one just started a few weeks ago ) than we have some months to make the decision

1 ) there never was any thermal paste on the CPU and the coldplate was not even making any contact with the die
2 ) member of 4pda.ru told me it's not the first time the CPU dies on such machine
My best guess is that it's because of lack of thermal paste. |

Subscribers Factorite (Elite) | Oh that's bad luck mate! I hope your GPD Win 3 is as reliable as the Pocket 7 has been for me.
Would love an upgrade, the specs on that are amazing for such a compact device and I think the 8" screen will be more useable! Bit of a steep price tag for me especially once taxes are taken into account :-( |

Why are the "claimed" counts so bugged? The most expensive model was claimed almost 1000 times and offer was even expanded to 1500 and others were far more than 0 as well. |

This is just advertising. These counters can be changed every day to suggest it is a "last minute offer". Don´t get crazy about it.
Also the "estimated shipping date" gets shifted every few weeks. Don´t expect the device to be available within the next months. These campaigns take their time.
Indigogo is not "ordering-and-getting-it" !
I am in the queue for the Astro and the Dusk (sunglasses ) for about a year and the shipping dates get shifted every month. Both campaings are now active between 12 and 24 months.
Do not look at Indigogo if you need something immediately or cannot spend the money for fun! |

| I understand that, dl1av. However, GPD is very reputable and they claim the devices are basically ready for shipping, and that the counters reflect the remaining stock, they changed them after campaign ended. Also, they vastly improved their communications this time. I'll keep this thread updated. |

| I got it! Does not seem to have any obvious issues (there were definitely some QC issues reported, GPD was sending replacement parts).
I totally forgot how bad W10 is by default.
