Is using reiserfs or ext3 bad for my compactflash card? I believe that the journal is small, so no damage would be done, but can anyone confirm this?

It shouldn't do too much damage to your card. The journal area will get considerably more written to it than other areas but it's not as bad as putting a swap file on it

Well, I needed it while debugging Debian, so now I have ext3 - a journaled file system.

-I will mod my 720 for a microdrive when I get my hands on one...
