If you run it without it being registered, it'll ask you for a key and refuse to run otherwise. There isn't any trial mode sadly

Hah. No, I agree with you on that point. It’s more useful if it was part of the total rom image for the unisurfer . That is arguably more important to have in Hpc update than a non functional app.

I've been playing around with the ROM image again. Did we ever find a solution to the "Not installed from desktop" error?

I think it’s because we don’t have the registry settings for when those were installed (per what ce geek said. ) so you should search for the .reg files in that image (but I didn’t find any)
