| Is it possible to count words with Softmaker's Textmaker and perhaps have it show the word count on the status bar? I didn't find the option sadly | |

| Let me play with my 2004, 2006, and 2010 versions and I’ll let you know what I find out. | |

| Did you find anything in the x86 build? It seems like it's not a thing sadly. Perhaps I'll have to make my own word count thing in PVB? | |

| On the desktop version you right-click on status bar. Then custom user interface, the count words. Works great on mt Teacher Edition... | |

| File/Properties/Info
Not certain, however, if you can make an icon for that on the status bar.

| Hi, sorry for the delay.
Here's what I figured out, building on what @Jake previously mentioned.
You can't exactly have a one-stop place to click it, but here's some workarounds I figured out:
To Add the Document Properties to the Status Bar
Click Extras->Customize->Control Strips
Under Group: File -> Click and Drag Properties up to the Menu Bars
To Add the Document Properties as a one step keyboard shortcut
Click Extras->Customize->Keyboard Mappings
Click Edit Default
Under Group: File, Command->Properties, add in "Please press accelerator" for example pressing Alt+4 at the same time will save that
Click ok to save changes
Click Apply
^Now clicking Alt+4 will show your word count, and enter will dismiss the window
Obviously, it only shows the word count if that was the last screen you navigated into Extras->Preferences (so theoretically you'd have to do that everytime you open the program)
Not exactly what you want but I was able to view word count and dismiss relatively quickly using Alt+4 and then enter to dismiss
I'm using SoftMaker Office 2006 for x86 in the SCL | |
