I'm opening a thread to tell you about my experiences with the restoration of this laptop.

I bought it on Wallapop, which is an application that at least works in my country for buying and selling used objects.

Price 50€. The seller already warned that the battery didn't work.

The seller turned out to be a good 'geek' and we spent a long time talking about computers and life in general. I had a pleasant evening.

When I got home I proceeded to clean it and test it to see what could be done to fix it.

I find that the screen has some strange stains.

At first I thought it was dirt on the inside, but when I took the touch-resistive sheet apart I saw that it wasn't. I think this is some kind of bad thing.
I think this is some kind of evil that comes out of the plastics.

Disassembly process.

The disassembly is not complicated. It's the typical one with screws and clips.

We remove the screws marked.
Two of them are hidden under the rubber nipples of the screen and the other two under perfectly placed trims.

To avoid damaging the trims, I use a scalpel and pry them out easily.
The lugs can be removed with your fingers.

Remove the right-hand side of the camera and carefully prise open the housing with a tool.

The resistive screen is glued, but it is easy to remove it.
The connector can be released by pulling on it and the cable can be pulled out.
There are some adjusting lugs to put it back in its original position.

Once the touchscreen has been removed. Check that the stains belong to the screen itself.

I've seen this in a video somewhere, so I'll take the risk of removing it.

It is a delicate process. With MUCH CARE and the help of a scalpel I managed to remove it.

I warn you that there are some very annoying smells and I had to open the window.

To remove the excess glue, I used an industrial solvent, as it wouldn't come off with alcohol or sticker remover.

With work and patience I managed to remove all the glue.

I see that the spots are gone, as well as the image.

Bought in Aliexpress I have some poralized films.

I place them and look for the most suitable position. I mark the position and cut it.

I don't glue them, I just leave them superimposed.

As you can see it looks great.

I mount it again and everything looks great.

...

In the next delivery I will change the 18650 battery.

Please, is there an easier way to upload images?
First I uploaded them and then I put them up.
Can they be uploaded and placed at the same time?

I found the video!

Great fix!

Do you think this is caused by the adhesives or the polarizer attacking the LCD screen coatings?

Now that you mention it...
When I peeled off the tinted film a horrible chemical smell stronger than solvent was coming out of it.
So it could be.

Well...

I changed the batteries. If you want I'll do a little analysis but, I'm not in the mood.

DON'T DO IT! Please, put it everywhere, DON'T DO IT!

My computer booted up and worked until I turned it off.
It did not turn back on.
I went crazy looking for why, until a friend told me about it.
The battery has a micro-controller in it that causes the system to lock up for tampering.
It is the M37515.
You will find a lot of information about its brother, M37512 and the battles users have with these controllers.

Now that micro-controller needs to be unlocked and from what I've read, it's going to be very difficult to get it unlocked.

So, I repeat: DON'T DO IT!

Best regards.

...I'm off to a corner to cry. Snifff.

Thank you for sharing, looks like you did a great job cleaning up the screen only to be foiled by a 'smart battery controller' they are a huge issue when it comes to keeping devices running!

If you do find a simple fix I would love to hear it because I have the same issue with some of my UMPCs

@FBustamante

Sorry about the battery issue.

I found something which may help you, maybe you already know but it might benefit others finding this post at a later date.

I have not tried it out myself so proceed with caution.

They also seem to have a forum which is active.

Thank you very much.

I have studied the subject a little and I find it extremely complicated.

Maybe later on.

I'm a bit depressed about the loss now.

I'll see if I can get the bad taste out of my mouth with PocketC.

The controller may simply need to be reset. It could be via a power management event, a software trigger, shorting a pin or a certain charge/discharge cycle of voltage. So don't give up hope just yet.
