| Are there ANY videos newer than the C'Amie one that was shared earlier here that fully covers how to disassemble one of these Jornada? I finally got my third Jornada home and I'm really excited to start fixing up the 720! But I'm wanting to take a tiny bit of time to set things up right so I can record this process in 1080p 60fps and the like haha. I'll go one step further and try to figure out the backlighting thing while on camera too. Absolutely zero issues having that video on HPCfactor main site tbh. Might just try and salvage the backlight from either the 680 or 690 to put into the 720 if I can't simply swap the display. Though I'll need to figure out if the four soft buttons on the side of the display have an overlay that I can take off and keep with the appropriate models.
Also, finally having a proper dock and the serial connector, I can start working on the 3d printed adapter again as it's a lot easier to design based on those tbh.

| @WillowDeaf are you saying that my video is too 2004 for you?
That was recorded using a DV cam, on tape and with no lighting. I think it was done on my desk in the house I was in at the time. Feels like a life time ago now! |

| I think I was the bishop's body double in Au Pair Girls in the Vatican, your finest film, in my opinion.

| That was John Holmes with a Palm, easily confused with C:Amie. But as we all know, C:Amie remains behind the camera, never in front of it. In Au Pair Girls in the Vatican, he gave Winona Ryder her first role. She could've been a contender if she hadn't kept shoplifting the cassocks.
@WillowDeaf I'll shut up now and let this thread return to topic. My apologies; it's Sunday, it's a thousand degrees outside, and I have nothing to do except post gibberish.

| I was like… I have no idea how to contribute to that conversation
Haha. I do love that original video. I just feels a little puzzled by the lack of anything similar anywhere online from what I could see. So I figured maybe I could update it. Would have zero voices, instead all on screen texts with easy to pause segments, etc…
(I am actually deaf. So I figured that it wouldn’t cause any harm if I made a new vid that’s a lil more accessible in general ) |

| Just did the whole disassembly and CCFL swap and all that. Damn... I made soooo many mistakes that I'm not gonna put that video up lol. I think I flipped one of the diffusion layer when I reassembled the display after the CCFL swap, and screwed up the reassembly of the screen a tiny bit so now there's some weird glare at spots and touch is slightly off on the right side of the 720's screen. I'll have to do it all over again. Not looking forward to that lol. |

This caught my attention...based on my own experiences I will tell you that if you are using a screen from a 680, the digitizer does not align with the screen the way you would expect. My guess is they handle the hard shortcut offsets differently between the models. I can't remember the details but I think I determined that on one of the models they use negative values and on the other positive off the right side of the screen, or something like that. |
