This is something cool I found off Twitter (now X).

"#rp2040 runs unmodified PalmOS 5.2.8 (showing off world’s only ARM-to-thumb1 JIT)" - Twitter / X by user dmitrygr

That’s absolutely cool looking!

My last dabbles in PalmOS were my Palm IIIxe. I remember upgrading it from OS 3.5.x to 4.1.

Unfortunately Palm Desktop I found clunky to use. ActiveSync was a breath of fresh air.

That said, the PalmOS itself was lightning fast. Super basic yes, but fast.

Thanks for the find

He even got Palm OS running on a Dell Axim X3 Pocket PC!

His blog was a fascinating tale...well worth the read!

Great find, some amazing work here. I would like to run Palm OS on a PPC, styletap doesn't run the full OS its just an interpreter so this looks like it could be a good way to go...

I couldn't exactly find a Pocket PC version of Palm emulator, but in my memory there were a couple, back in those days.
I found one for Windows Mobile with trial version. $49.95 for full version.
https://styletap.com/downloads.php

I also found HTML5 version of a Palm emulator here and it is open source.

I have PHEM running on my Android phone with an M500 ROM. Works well including wifi sync but I do get the occasional crash.
Was great on my old Samsung Note as the stylus made it much more usable

Thanks for sharing about PHEM. I never knew about that app.

Maybe I'll try it when I can extract the ROMs from old Palm devices.

I'm pretty sure PHEM was abandoned. I don't think you can get it from the Play Store anymore. CloudPilot is a lot newer and works great. It's web-based, but you can easily install it as an "app" (shortcut) on Android. Runs PalmOS up to 4.x.

cloudpilot is great. still being updated, too. I've been using it a lot recently, when my PDA isn't with me.
