I just got bored and took a picture of my desk
Thankfully it's not too messy, and hopefully you will find the items interesting:
- LCD TV Monitor
- keyboard and mouse
- an old PPC in its cradle
- a pile of whatever including boxes, CD, a DVD, a gamepad etc...
- my Smartphone
- an arcade joystick
- an almost empty bottle of spring water
- a large case containing CDs (on the left)
- Gamecube (on top of case)
last but not least
- Clone Trooper

What's on YOUR desk?

Is everyone just shy to talk about your private space? Or is it true that all HPC users (except me) need no stupid desk?

Everyone's just to ashamed to take a pic of their very cluttered and messy desks, and too lazy to clean up! Or maybe that's just me....

I'm not too ashamed! I was just off.. well, sleeping

First, a linked image (is imageshack being slow for anyone else?).

What is here:
19" LCD monitor I got for a steal (the only pride of my PC, unfortunately)
Altec Lansing speakers
Seinfeld calender
Wallet overflowing (I wish) with money that I may go waste on a new smartphone shortly (Nokia 6670?)
Pocket knife
Me glasses (I wear contacts primarily)
Piggy bank full of loonies and quarters for laundry
My pay stub and new time sheet (I work for a temp agency)
Remote for the crap tv on my behind left
Sharpie for labelling CDs and DVDs I burn
Pen stolen from work
Base for my MX700
My pride and joy (MP790), with wifi card in and such
Microsoft multimedia keyboard
Logitech MX700
Mousepad stolen from previous employer
My Nokia 6820 (unlocked) - very gimmicky but not as nice as a smartphone

And below:
Hearts of Iron II, in CD case
Margarine container of my small change
Programming Windows CE, Second Edition
Binder full of games/applications

Other side:
Antec Sonata (wherein my PC resides)
Some generic case holding spare PC parts (xp 1700+, etc)
My sexy trackball for when I forget to charge the MX700's batteries
Thrustmaster Joystick
aaand my busted card reader

Also, my bed and some old receipt underneath it.

well.. it's better if no one gets to see my "real" desk!! i never use it as it's full of useless and useful stuff everything from my hpc's chargers and cradles to my old school books! i really should tidy it up..
so i'm always in front of my PC desk or on my bed or elsewhere
you all could already see my bed in the wince family thread! so i'll show a pic of my PC desk.
aah! too bad! a part of my messy desk is in the background! nvm, i won't take another pic now!

oh and the list..
17" tft monitor, keyboard & mouse, t39 phone, jornada 728 (or another hpc.. varying), a cd (what's on it???), some piece of paper, nice cactus, koalas (ah not the real things), pencil, ni-mh's and some useless stuff..

Double post again!! I am wondering if it is my connection, the router or the forums slowing up and sending the wrong command! I am sure I didn't press "submit"!

I know my room is a bit of a mess, but here is my desk, complete with the clevo laptop (Lord-Wide-@$& (Trying to be family friendly here), otherwise known as LWA - Overlord is above in store currently!). My family of PDAs, some unpowered and un-amplified speakers (I have 2 different set and the Hi-Fi above), my TRS CDs and the Jornada CDs, bluetooth card, Jornada's Wireless card, NEC MP batery and 2 serial cables! (Yes, plenty of cables!). Right behind me is one annoying sister! I forgot about the fridge too! (DO'H!)

On the fridge is an array of things, my mothers mobile (Which she lost the charger to hers, so since we have identical phones, she uses my charger! ) a model of 117 306 of the Class 117 DMU fame, which has now seen 51369 (the DMBS) scrapped at Aylesbury in 2003 (Referncing the prototype), 51411 (DMS, incorrectly modelled as a DMBS!) is now used as spares in the same place and I am not sure about 59521 (TCL) whereabouts, presummed scrapped!
A containter containing 4 mini screwdrivers, screws, padlock, dongles to PC card with several PC cards.
Lastly, there is a blank CD, a one day travel card for London using Zones 1-6 (dated 16/08/05) and lastly, my flashcard holder. Did I forget my Hi-Fi speaker?

If you think they were bad, look at my OTHER desk!

Roger (my father) has taken it over, hence the mess (And I am not using my desktop because of it!)

The image is quite large, the image file size is under 300k though!

Hey Rich ! Is that an Icom ? Looks familiar to me. All my ham gear is stored, collecting dust. How about this? I have a Yeasu FT747, new in box, opened only to check the contents.

Anyway, I can never find my cam when I need it, so that gives you an idea of the mess of my desks. Yes, plural. That's why I want to ditch my desktop and reclaim the room. My main desktop, an emachine named Borgcube is buried so far away I can't see it. I have a giant HP3100 laser printer/scanner dominating the printer table on one side , and a giant Lexmark X73 AIO on the other side. In the middle is a 17" Compaq crt monitor. (where do you guys get the money to buy monster lcd's on top of the hpc toys? Care to share?).

I have a desk devoted to hpc's, tablets and Librettos and an ancient p150 used for emergencies. It's also my tech desk with my tools, both for computers and ham electronics. Last time I looked I had two Icom dual band radios needing repairs in a corner.

I'll post a pic if I find my cam, or use my 35mm with a 15mm lens, lol.

You got it...an IC-746. I used to have homebuilt Heathkits, an Icom FT-735, and a bunch of others...it all took up so much space...and when I kicked in the linear, it actually caused my lights to dim.

Got rid of it all and got a single rig that covers 160-2 meters in a single unit. Much easier that way...plus auto antenna matching is the cat's meow. Still the 747GX is a fine radio in itself.

I've been trying to reach the International Space Station, but my homebuilt parabolic dish isn't cutting the job.

Oops...got off the HPC topics again...but at least it wasn't politics...

Rich

Once this internet fad started, I forgot all about my ham stuff. One day I'll actually fire the 747. Probably when I move to Nowhere, Canada, lol.

So, is it a general rule that users of TinyPCs (TM) have tiny desks?
