| Hello!
I'm more knowledgeable on Palm devices, but want to expand into HPCs.
How much should I be paying for them?
I've seen Jornada 720/728s going for a great range of prices on ebay, but I'm not sure what a reasonable price for one would be. |

| They're varying wildly lately because people are starting to recognize that they're collectors' items. I'd say anything under 100 USD would be a pretty good deal. (I paid about $160 on eBay for my 728 back in 2006. ) |

| On eBay elsewhere, I feel the price is a little overpriced these days.
I'd spend $50-$75 if the condition is good...
But the good thing is, with more people knowledgeable about programming and Linux and able to share it easily with X(Twitter), GitHub and other tools, how much it's worth may have increased in one point of view.

| How much you pay should be determined by whether I am the seller or not. |

| On eBay prices are getting ridiculous, the best deals are usually from local marketplace sites. For my Handhelds I usually paid anything from 30-100€
I *did* pay more for a Netbook Pro from usedhandhelds once, but it was new old stock, so that made it worth more! |

| Looking at "Sold Items" on eBay there have been several Jornadas sold for <$100 in the last few weeks. So I guess the advice would be if you want a good deal on one, patiently bid on a few and you should be able to get one in your price range... |

| p.s. I think $150 for a Jornada 720 in good working condition is a solid price, not a deal but not a rip off in the current market for these devices. |

| Yeah, 150 isn't a terrible price, I just can't justify spending that much haha |

| Yeah totally understand. Honestly you might have better luck scouring local flea markets/estate sales and facebook marketplace than eBay, but that can be a lot of work. Then again, it can also be a fun adventure |

| Something else I thought of last night- I don't know how set on the idea of the Jornada you are, but the Sig3 is very similar and frequently cheaper and (in my opinion) a better device/better screen/faster processor/good compatibility, tho certainly less of a legend in the US. There is a bit more twiddling involved installing the english language packs etc, but that might suit you just fine depending on your personality. You could do worse than to reach out to our resident sig3 guru, @stingraze, and ask if he has any for sale in your price range.
