When I have to hard reset my devices, one of the most laborious steps is setting the date--the J720 starts out at year 2000 and to get to 2023 takes a long time via the default clock program, scrolling month-by-month.

Can the date be set in the registry?

The best thing to do would be to use vxUtil to sync with a NTP server as you're fighting with the hardware RTC here.

Can’t you sync time with active sync too? Obviously that’s a little clunky

Hey, @torch. Time is easy [you heard it here first ], it's the date that takes so long to get to. WMDC doesn't even give you the opportunity to sync time. PsiWin (Psion) always had that options.

@C:Amie vxutil/Function/Time Service produces error "recv() returned error: 10054" when querying time-a.nist.gov

Change to global time.nist.gov and it will bring up both date/time correctly for one's time zone.

Thanks. I had been looking SP TimeSync 2.3 in the SCL, but their host time/date is dead and can't be replaced. vxutil wins again.

If you have .net installed, writing an app to do it probably isn't too difficult, with or without time sync.

We also have this exemptionware program in scl with the source code. It’s .net cf 3.5

I wasn’t able to get it working with time sync (suspect same issues as Jake with other program) but perhaps worth looking into the code so one isn’t exactly starting from scratch
