There is no pic or description. Just says "working" but I assume that is just the holiday prayer from the seller

But, hey, there is the original webpage from ACTiSYS online - nineties style, just updated to TLS/SSL.

Kids, that was the original www-experience when all that started, without any blinkenlights

I looked at their website yesterday and I was none the wiser from the inconsistent mess of 90's cheese web-design as to which product it was.

Come on I love it to get a view through time to the past via some long forgotten websites on some forgotten servers.

The company is long gone and there is no help to be expected.

But I discovered that one of the later CEOs of ACTiSYS had an interesting biography:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Li-Chen_Wang

I liked their products back then. They were not the cheapest but of decent quality and with good support.

BTW: Happy christmas eve to you and all readers

I asked the seller for more details and photos. Let's see if he responds.
I found another, more expensive one. It is not with USB cable.

Anyway, happy holidays everyone!

@Rich Hawley really knows the Actisys brand; maybe he'll weigh in. Without a knowledgeable seller, it's impossible to tell the interior condition of an ir adapter. I remember using an Actisys ir adapter with the classic Sharp Zaurus on Win98SE so it can be done. The later the OS, the harder ir becomes.

Agree with @dl1av: Merry Christmas to everyone that wants it.

@NarakuITA The second ebay listing is the one I used with Win98. I have an Actisys usb ir adapter that I never got working, but that's with Win10 and other issues, perhaps.

The 220L is prolly your safer bet, but that's a dangerous price... (I do believe that Win98 even came with the 220L drivers in stock; or maybe that was XP; I don't think the same for Win95)

This is the one you want. But it is a bit overpriced, make an offer.

Happy holidays to you, too

re: ACT-IR220L seller. I just got a price drop email down to 49 Euros. Dunno if that increases its attraction.

Did he show you the device? It' s a bit shady - maybe in the end you only get what is in the picture (an empty case).

50eur would be ok for either USB or RS232. As a collector of portables from the nineties sooner or later you may need that thing.

Because it is for USB and there is no genuine USB with Win95/98. The drivers that came recently even for DOS-USB are just actual hobby-projects

I agree with @dl1av: that last one won't work w/ 95. Also, I think I own the same usb ir and I never got anywhere with it, even in Win10.

Let's start by order, the seller replied to me. The device is compatible with windows 95 and sent me the photos. I attach one.
However, this device must be paired with some sort of card, but I don't have any free slots to insert it. So it should be discarded, too bad. From the photos it is in perfect condition.

This device is not compatible, but we already understood that.

Lastly, C:Amie recommended this device to me, which the seller reported is compatible with Windows 95.
I believe it is a Fake, since I managed to speak to the seller, and he claims that it is compatible, but no drivers are needed for installation. Truly a liar, as we all know, that if I want to run any device on windows 95, it needs drivers to use it!

I think it is arduous and difficult to find an infrared device compatible with windows 95.
