After all these months try to install this software... thanks to rgisondi, I finally could run it. It is a lot faster or maybe I'm just to excited But anyway, all you have to do is hexedit AcroRd32.exe (beside off course copy the dll). Find the first 94 04 00 80 and replace with 29 00 00 80 to overcome "coredll.dll doesn't export function 1172" problem. And then find any 71 00 00 80 between 41 00 00 80 & 45 00 00 80 ( I found 2) and replace with 29 00 00 80 "aygshell.dll doesn't export function 113" problem. I don't know whether I should change all the instance of 71 00 00 80 or just the first one. Well, at least it's working for now. The find feature is not working, the program will be terminated. Well, need more trial and error from all of you guys to find the best methods. I guest this kind of method will make adobe reader 2.0 available on another handheld too beside sig III, because at first I think the core3.dll was the only solution.

cool, congrats!

about find function not working.. try replacing all the instances of 71 ..... etc. maybe that's the problem. i replaced all instances in any case for my 900C.

this kind of hack will work with a lot more stuff. maybe even for programs that run on hpc2000 but won't on ce.net. i'm guessing this because acrobat 2.0 will run fine on a hpc2000 device, without any hexediting. and it's not the only example, destinator is the same case. ok it runs on a simpad but it will not on a 900C or sigmarion 3 without this hack. my guess is that coredll.dll doesn't have everything implemented on ce.net compared to hpc2000 (and ppc's). and even different ce.net devices (with the same .net version..) don't have the same (complete or less complete) implementation..
so.. it is a very useful hack!!

I found out that the find function is working if I'm using the 9.5kb aygshell.dll. But the problem is, the menu will be dissapeared after that Yup, I thought so too, this will open chance to run more ppc app on ce too. But I guess we need to know how to map the wrong function number to correct one. I mean we need to know the other "29 00 00 80".

All right, I'm just a village idiot here. It doesn't sound like we're any closer to porting Adobe Reader back to H/PC Pro . . . or are we?

Well I don't know much about HPC Pro, but I thing there's suppose to be no problem running adobe on HPC Pro with this method. Or is there any fundamental differences of HPC Pro?

You cannot port down applications without the source code. The CE3 calls in the Acrobat Reader are not accessible by the 2.11 backend of H/PC Pro

Well, that sux. The Pocket PC version works fine on that form factor, but the H/PC screen is ideal for viewing .pdf files. Guess I'll eventually have to cough up the money for a ROM upgrade . . . or a new H/PC device to add to my growing collection.

hmm... i think it'll do the trick: download the right cab installer from adobe (original ppc version), get at it with a hexeditor and replace all hexa's that are 94 04 00 80, and 71 00 00 80 (as for the latter.. preferably those that are between 41 00 00 80 and 45 00 00 80) to 29 00 00 80.
if you really want to do a perfect job, replace mfcce300.dll to mfcce301 as well (and use the correct, hexedited dummy dll's for it). in the case of acrobat reader, it is enough if you do the mfcce hexedit for the .exe only.

hm, ok, if you find compatibility isn't 100% with pdf documentums, we can still try acrobat reader.
btw what is the name of this software?
