Where are this Buttons ?

2. I am not able to install Tascal RegEdit or another Regedit, to remove the

Can you post an exact way here ?

3. Is there a way to Upgrade to WIN CE Net 4.2 or higher ?

4. I would be happy for a list of progs that you are running on the Powerhandeld.

Hi there,

Welcome to the growing army of bSquare PHH owners.
I have had mine for nearly a year & use it extensively - it's a great unit.

The B&C keys are on the slide out keyboard, this is at the back of the unit.

I don't think you can remove the vodaphone branding through regedit (there are 3 registry editors I have working - Commander, TRE and another I can't remember!

Someone posted a solution on this thread to allow the standard ce.net desktop to display rather than the vodaphone today. It works a treat but you lose the icons for battery & phone.

In terms of software, the growing numbers of units mean that more and more effort is being put in tohack software not originally intended for this unit.

I personally use:

Utopiasoft Hum (MP3 player)
Softmaker Textmaker
Softmaker Planmaker
Twiddlebit Plan (MS project)
HPC commander (file manager & lots more)
bSquare bUseful utilities
MS Power pack (for HPC Pro)
A few card games from thievesandkings.com
Plus lots of others I can't remember!

Mike

Hi,

Well this is great - I'll sign up in a minute.

I followed the hacks and now have a CE desktop with my own wallpaper, proper start menu etc...awesome.

I don't use mine as a phone so the loss of icons isn't such an issue.

I now have all the below working and loading more as we speak...(owned it for 17hrs lol)

CE agenda - I liked psions do this works perfectly and the built in calender is not too good. This adds tasks as well

Ereader - I've been with peanutpress.com/palmdigitalmedia.com now ereader for as long as I can rememeber and it works fine with the BSquare

PocketQuake...well y not

TRE - regedit

Avantgo client - it syncs but no pages yet....

What media player is everyone using - I tried PocketMVP but it crashed taking the taskbar with it.

Cheers

Hi (also from Germany),

I did buy, like most others here, my Power handheld at eBay Germany
(they would sell 52 units..now only 38 are left for the rest of 7 days and 119EUR/unit).

I did buy this one beuause of the features like 640*480, the SDIO Slot (for which
is from the 13th of September at expansys.de a Socket WLAN fuer around 54EUR available...
on theer sites it do cost arounf 100-120EUR WLAN 802b / 11MBit)

The Power Handheld is here in Germany a successor of the well on ebay saled
SMILO...also a 640*480 HPC with no Card-Ports but IRDA and internal memory..but no keyboard.

Hoeft&Wessel did sell the Power Handheld as skeye.mobile.

My Power Handheld will (I hope) arrive next week.

Avantgo should be no Problem (got It working on the SMILO) and syncing via USB should be faster than the IRDA on the SMILO.

I do hope that in the Future a GPRS-Flatrate would be cheaper because of the usage from antoher users in the UMTS Net.

SMS and short Email would be fine with a Keyboard.

Bye
Guido.

Hello from Germany,
first great to have this Board!!!!
I just bought the Bsquare Powerhandheld on eBay like others here and have some questions too. Sorry for my terrible english and perhaps some silly questions.

1. How can i make a hardreset?
2. I installed The Core Media Player but with a resoulution with 640x480px on Fullscreen-Modus the Video is very slow. Is it possible and how can i watch videos in fullscreen in a normal speed.
3. Another Problem: I tried The Core Media Player, but the backlight is switchung off every time i started a video. And PocketMVP doesn't plays divx videos.

Thanx for your answers!

1.: read this thread please
2.: probly the CPU or the video chip isn't strong enough or you need to recode the video
3.: huh, there's a similar thread on this, with a solution (reghack).
