Strange things going on with my Sig3 and on my PC with Win2K...

Got a 2GB CF card recently, figured that would tide me over for awhile...

However, keep getting error messages (only when I copy large files of 1+MB) when I copy files from my PC over to the card inserted in my Sig3, using either Sync File folder with MS ActiveSync (or the Explore option in MS AS) that there's not enough room on card for the file.

Obviously, I knew that this can't be correct....

So, I just put card in a card reader attached to my PC to see what card shows there and also try copying file over that way. Same problem copying file...

When I click on CF Card in Windows, it shows the following:

Capacity: 21.5MB

Used: 20.6 MB

Free: 956KB

So how do I get back the almost 2GB's missing?????

Yipes....

don't use activesync for file transfer... well, you definitely need activesync running but after that just use total commander (on the PC) for file transfer (there's a wince plugin on ghisler.com)
or just use the wlan network for transferring files (if you have one).

anyway format the card.

Hi,
I think should be formatted as FAT>32, if not will not detect more than 1024MB, if formatted as FAT<32.

Please get confirmation from the wise men!!!!!

I'm with cmonex, format the card asap. I'ts probably full of unalloacted (lost) sectors.
A format should recover all 2gb. I would choose fat32 and stay with the standard 4k cluster size. Smaller cluster sizes save a bit of slack space but not all explorers or programs will play nice.
