like over at my-symbian.com, they make the forums' (and i think topics) titles viewable to guests. But for those guests to actually open the topic and view the content, they have to register.
so i thought that maybe if this were to be implemented here it could increase the number of registered users per day. but of course fix the notification thing and speed up the site before you do it.
just a suggestion...although it sounds a little non-HPC:Factor style of doing things, still good to consider.
We are more concerned with serving the community as best we can rather than depriving people of the support and information we can offer.
I will not be blocking people from reading informaiton on this board for free, and without terms.
We will though be disabling guest posting on the board on June 17th 2005. We feel that things will ahve settled down by then, and there are a few problems with spammers and robots which we do not want to spend from now to eternity dealing with.
We will announce more on this closer to the time, so make the most of the system as it is now if you are a guest user.
The notification system is being looked in to as per the Forum Bugs and suggestions thread.
