I am trying to find a USB pcmcia card for H/PC's. I could not find anything in the hardware section. Is there such a thing? I would like to be able to connect my mobile phone to a h/pc and do wireless - not network but 3G stuff. Does anyone have any experience with this?
If I recall correctly, all USB host PC cards are actually Cardbus, not PCMCIA - while they use the same physical structure and pins, Cardbus is 32-bit, versus 16-bit for PCMCIA.
Unfortunately, I don't think there are any H/PCs with Cardbus-compatible PC card slots - I know the IBM z50, NEC MobilePro 880, and HP 360LX
(the three I've owned
) don't, which is making it a real bear right now to find a WiFi card to replace my dead one.
