"spare" Battery storage question [Jornada 680]

I purchased an "extended" battery yesterday for my Jornada 680, is there anything I should know to preserve the life of original regular [now spare] battery please? Thanks.

There was a lengthy debate about this topic. The general consensus was,
1. Don't freeze packs
2. Don't overheat or store them in hot places
3. Don't let them run flat.

Otherwise, there was a lot of differing opinions ranging from blasting them hard with a car charger to never removing them from the cradle.

but the support section will still tell some important stuff. for example storing a battery for a long time, there's a consensus also store it 40% charged and in a place neither too cool nor too hot.
if you still want to use the spare battery, that's no problem either.
