| The Jornada 690-hpc/pro community really needs someone to rip and distribute the SH3 PPC2002 dll's so we can start running PPC2002 apps like the MIPS hpc2k boys. So many PPC apps are available for SH3 it's a shame not to be able to use them.
How about it? Anyone know of a source for the SH3 PPC2002 dll's?

| Wallace,
I'm afraid that you are completly out of luck.
The reason why the hacks work under HPC2000 is that both HPC2000 and Pocket PC 2000 / 2002 are based on the Windows CE 3.0 core. So at their heard they have the same API calls and kernl.
However the Pro is a 2.1x core/ kernl. As such the PPC dll's wont be able to execute properly. Also, I've never seen Pocket PC applications for SH3 processors. Are you referring to Palm-Sized PC applications?
The Palm-Size PC is a Pocket PC under CE 2.01 / 2.11. In which case your luck changes somewhat. |

| Thanks for the reply about the 2.11 core vs. the 3.0 core. It wouldn't hurt to try anyways.
RE: the sh3 apps I have. Most trial stuff I download includes an sh3 PPC CAB so I figured that somewhere there is a ppc with an sh3 cpu and the required dll's. |

There is of course e.g. HP Jornada 520 and 540 series with Hitachi's SH3. Had a 540 myself some time ago and really no problem to feed it with software |

| But the 520/540 are ppc2000 aren't they? Or ce2.11?
With the sh3 ppc2002 dll's I could hack and experiment a little and see if running ppc2002 apps would work on a 690. |

| Ok, I found the mfcce300.dlls for all platforms. I experimented a bit and *seemed* to get somewhere with ppc2002 apps on my j690. I think my lack of real aygshell/doclist dlls is hampering me. I tried making plain text dummies with no joy.
If nobody has a source for them, does anyone know of a program to dump the rom contents of a sh3 machine over the serial port? Or a program that ignores the rom bit and lets you copy the needed files from rom?
this might be a fruitless experiment but the russian guy (dic?) who figured out the ppc on hpc probably had his share of setbacks and obstacles, but in the end it worked so I'm not giving up yet! |

| yeah, a rom dumper is a very important (but missing) tool for us the sh3 owner boys. does anybody knows how (with what program) did they (whomever got arm ppc software running in arm hpc) copied over the aygshell & doclist dll's from the ppc2002 to the hpc2000. i've been doing experiment on my own, trying to extract ceshell.dll and serial.dll from my jornada 680. so far i've tried
1) total commander
2) gsfinder+
3) the ce command line
4) ce explorer
5) xplore the device with activesync
all of them unsucessfully
please, any ideas would be appreciated |

| We extracted the binaries from FlashROM compilations not from the devices. |

| While we are at this, does it mean PPC2002 apps will run on NEC MP790 running HPC2k? If so, anyone with the PPC2002 dlls MIPs version? |
