I know, I'm dreaming, right? Is anyone running one, or aware of one?

Thank you,

Paul

I was working on one with my MP790, but since I had to return it and haven't had a device to work with, I couldn't continue.

I believe there is code out there somewhere for PPC which could be ported (it's just eVB).

ive been considering writing one in dialect, but havent yet started. I have been looking at rss code, it looks pretty simple, my plan is to just parse it all, and strip out all the junk, there only a little text and a few URLs that one needs.

Is there any way I can help? I'm not the greatest coder (I'm a hardware type), but if someone points me in a direction, I can usually get it to work.

Im not the greatest coder either,
right now i went to slashdot.org, and saved their .rss from a link at the bottom on their page. Ive been studying it. Next my plan is to write a program in dialect to read a .rss file and convert it into usable text. Mostly just strip out the junk. Then as i get things to work, i will try and make a nice interface. I plan to develop it on my PC and then try to run it on my HPC.

When i get some code written i will post it, for others to gnaw on.

Have you try Qmail3? http://q3.snak.org/download/ I use this well crafted piece of software as my all in one mail client and RSS reader and it has HPC 2000 MIPS version too ....

Thanks for the tip, I'd not realised Qm3 had RSS support, I will look into it.
