Needed, good screen capturer SW for HPC Pro. 'good' means has small footprint filesize/RAM required, support saving in various file formats (prefered but not a must), easy to operate and most of all Freeware!

any recommendations?

Fair enough

There aren't really all that many which are free, and certainly not as featured. The colour version of captce may be.

ScreenSnap is by far my favorite. I just assign one of my hot keys to it and everytime I want to capture a screen, I hit that key. It, like all the others, saves the image as a bmp file.

Another one that is free is CaptCe found here: http://www.oohito.com/wince/arm_j.htm

A cheap one is ValkSofts version ($2.99 last time I checked): http://www.valksoft.com/ScrCapture.html

Snapit is only about $10, but has a lot of bells and whistles http://xoanan.com/pocketpc/SnapIt.htm

And of course, Pocketshot is interesting as it saves an image and allows printing directly to your desktop computer without the need to transfer the captured image: http://www.fieldsoftware.com/PocketShot.htm

my favs are xpcep and captce.
the former is in japanese but stingraze translated the options here (in a thread on hpcfactor). i like that it can do jpg and png as well, not just large bmp's.
captce is good because it's simple and i can work faster with it. it can save in bmp only

Splendid! xpcep is my choice, If the author provide the source code, may be I can do translate in English and recompile it back, unfortunately the source code is no longer available. So I just did something nasty, and now I have an "English" version of xpcep ...

Sorry C:Amie, is this post breaking hpcfactor rules?

Yes, you might be right Rich It is my mistake I've run wrong version on my Jornada 690, the one that I download yesterday from the original Japanese site.

But however the one that you refer above won't run on Jornada 690. So I'm still happy with my "version" since I've re-layout also the software setting screen to fit my J690 nicely, comparing to the original one
