Hey all.

I've been searching the forums, downloaded 5 or 6 different drivers from various places on various recommendations both here and elsewhere... and I'm stumped.

I've got the netgear ma401 wireless pc card... and my 900c.

With every driver... nothing. I install the driver, I reset, I install the card, I type in the name... no light... I pull the card and reset, insert card again, asks for driver name again... or no light.

Some of the drivers installed fine and some asked for missing libraries when I rebooted.

What am I doing wrong???

P.S. I've tried...
Pretec driver
linksys driver
wl100 driver
and a couple others...

I'd love a step by step for the 900c please!

Thanks!

try this. then use the built-in config app, imo it's better than the card's own app.

(don't forget you almost always need a CE4 driver, not a CE3/hpc2000 driver!)

oh and before installing the above driver, delete every relevant registry entry from HKLM/drivers/pcmcia/
(relevant entries apply to the drivers you've installed so far. you'll see which ones are those. be careful though)
or do a hard reset.

I'm so excited!

It actually works!

Two more questions...

How the heck do I get activesync to use it...

And

What built in config app?

Thanks again!

See the support section for a 101 on lan sync, there is also an article in the same area of the support home page which discusses ActiveSync bombing out on lan sync attempts, worth a read also.

So it says to...

1. Tap Start, Programs, Communications, ActiveSync
2. From the Connect using drop box choose Network Connection
3. Select the computer to synchronise with from the Connect To list
4. Tap Connect...
5. ActiveSync should now initiate a connection via the LAN

Problem is I get no drop box

Using activesync 3.8...
